Here comes the sun

Well if you are in the northern hemisphere we are living in hope. Those down south are still enjoying the sun and knowing it is time to say goodbye. We sympathise as the UK is beginning to feel like it has been renamed Narnia - going through endless winter and never spring. So we at Daring Cardmakers want to celebrate the sun and bring the warmth of crafting into our lives

Here comes the sun!

Lets see some cards full of reds and oranges and yellows - or with lots of circles on them - or rays - anything that says sunshine to you!

please join in, then come back and leave a message so we can see what you've made.
And to get the creative juices flowing here is what the Design Team have done this week...

Winter Birthdays

Hi,
It's Rein here this week,
Thanks to all of you for the Wonderful "Have A Heart" creations, it was great to see all the beautiful cards, and to see all the different ways you added a heart to your cards.
Winter will, hopefully, soon be gone here in Europe and for those "Down Under" It's on it's way, so for my dare I'd like to see lots of:
Winter Birthday Cards
Perhaps cards with snowdrops on them, or ice skates, snowflakes, or how about using the Olympic Games currently happening in Vancouver as inspiration for your cards this week?
As long as it's a birthday card with a Winter theme, we'd love to see it, so please join in, then come back and leave a message so we can see what you've made.
As usual the DT have come up with some ideas to get you thinking

hugs Rein

Have A Heart

Hello again
Another Friday rolls around and with it of course a new challenge from the Daring Cardmakers. However, we bet that what you're most interested in at this minute is who the winner of last week's draw is - and whether it was YOU! It would seem that there were a whole lot of people keen to win that prize and we would like to thank all those who shared their creativity with us. We hope you'll all be joining in again with our challenges soon.

Well Sue's been keeping a note of all those who met the criteria laid out in last week's challenge post, today she's put the names of all those who were eligible into her "virtual" hat.......... And .......drum roll, please.....

The winner of our Craft Obsessions lucky draw is
Kath

Congratulations Kath, please Email me Sue with your postal info and your prize will soon be on it's way to your address.
We'd like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you once again to Brenda and David for donating such a wonderful prize. If you click the link above, you'll understand why Craft Obsessions is such a favourite craft shop, they named it soooo wisely!.
So, now that the excitement - for most of us - has died down let's move on to this week's dare. The 14th February, St Valentine's Day is looming large, so this week we've got a challenge called:
Have a Heart
We'd like to see cards with hearts on them. You can use as many hearts as you like and they don't need to be "obvious" so if you want to use a heart shape to make the petals of a flower, strawberries on a cupcake or apples on a tree that's fine by us.

They don't have to be Valentine Cards either - anniversaries, weddings, or just "Hello" cards for a good friend whatever the reason add a heart to your card and show you care.

Below you'll find cards that the team has made this week, but we hope you'll be joining in and sharing the cards you make with us. Just leave a message letting us know where we can see your card and we'll hop over to see what you've been making.

Have fun

Feburary's Birthstone; Amethyst

Wow, you know you guys never fail to step up to the challenge and the team have decided that you can all go to the top of the class and have a "Virtual" Gold Star after seeing all your lovely cards for Keryn’s School themed dare last week.
This week we continue with the next in line of our Birthstone dares and anyone who has a birthday in February will already know that means Amethyst, but before you rush off and get busy we also have some exciting news for you……

First of all we say a sad farewell to our lovely Caz, who's been such an inspiring Guest Designer throughout the month of January, Thank you so much Caz, we'll miss you.

The new month, however sees the return of not one but two of our past Guest Designers - we thought it was about time we asked back some of those who've inspired us over the last few years in their Guest designer spots, so please say a big "Welcome Back" to
We're thrilled to bits that you've both agreed to come and show your fabulous creations on the DCM Blog again.

Secondly, as you may have noticed we don’t often have prizes on our blog.
This is because we firmly believe it should be about the fun of playing along rather than winning something that motivates us. But a little extra temptation to join in never goes amiss and we do welcome offers of prizes and sponsorship as they do give us all a bit of encouragement!

So,this week the lovely Brenda and David from Craft Obsessions have donated this wonderful Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch and Stamp set as a prize and let me tell you, most of the DT is wishing they could be in with a chance of winning it because it’s fabulous

All we ask in return for being in the draw and having a chance of winning it is that you give both Craft Obsessions and the Daring Cardmakers a mention on your blog and that the card you make is linked
with no more than three other challenges.

The winner will be drawn at random and announced next Friday.

Oh yes…… word is there’s also lots of new goodies arriving from CHA any day soon so that’s got to be worth a visit! Please click on the Logo and visit Craft Obsessions, where you’ll be greeted with a warm and friendly welcome.
For the February Birthstone challenge we'd like to see cards with an Amethyst theme, this could be the colour, or maybe something to do with the meaning and mythology around the stone.
So off you go, you can use anything you like be it papers, gems, buttons, whatever comes to hand as long as the Amethyst stone is the theme

Don’t forget to leave us a link so we can come and see your creations.
Here are a few examples from the team to help get your creative juices flowing.
