This Little Light of Mine

Thank you if you joined in with Beckie's Christmas Film quote cardmaking last week.
This week it's the final dare of 2013 as we're taking a couple of weeks off over Christmas,
Can you believe we're heading for another new year already? It's been an amazing 2013 of Daring Cardmaking and we'll be back for more in 2014!

For the last dare of 2013 we have. for you....

'This Little Light of Mine'

Lights are always associated with Christmas - candles, stars, fairy lights - and those "tiered" candle holders from Scandinavia which I can't remember the name of - I'm sure someone will let us know.....
So please use any sort of light associated with the Christmas Season on your cards - and you have an extra long time to join in with us this time!

We'll be back on January 10th to start another year of cardmaking challenges, and we hope you'll be back too - so now it only remains for us to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a happy New Year from the all of us here at the Daring Cardmakers
Have fun!

Christmas Movie Quote

Good morning everyone!  Thanks so much to those who joined in the last weeks colour dare set by Zuzana, weren't they such pretty colours!?

Beckie here today with my dare for you .....

'The best way to spread Christmas Cheer, is singing loud for all to hear.'

I love the movie Elf and this has to be one the best sayings from the movie! So this week I am challenging you to use a quote from your favourite Christmas movie on your card.  I may have taken my love of Elf a little too far with my card!  LOL!!

Here are the DT's inspiration for you sharing their quote from their favourite movie .... I wonder if you can guess which movies they are from?

December Colours

Thank you for joining in Leo's Going for Gold challenge. Your cards were beautiful!
Hello everyone it's Zuzana here.
I remember when I was little my mum bought a huge pack of sunflower seeds every December. We built a wooden bird house, filled it with the seeds and hung it on a tree by our living room. Each day we'd wait by the window for cute blue-tits to come.
When I came across this picture it refreshed my memory. The cosiness of our warm home, a winter wonderland with snow outside and watching for blue-tits!
Now! I dare you to create a card with these peaceful,

December Colours

Sky Blue, Agate Blue, Greenish Gray, Canary Yellow and Tan

Going For Gold

Thank you for joining in with last week's paper weaving dare. From this week onwards we've got a guest designer joining us so please give a big welcome back to Daring Cardmakers to Lynne!
If you're a long-time follower of the Daring Cardmakers, you'll remember Lynne  (aka TartanLass) as she was a DT member until "real life" got in the way - we're absolutely thrilled to have her back with us for a while and we know you'll love seeing her around here.

It's Leo here bringing you the next dare and this week we're.....
Going for gold
I'd like you to use just metallic gold and white to create your card. Think of all the different gold materials you could use, gold paint, gold ink, gold glitter, gold leaf, anything you can think of, so long as it's gold!
Take a look at all the striking cards the design team have created to get you started and if you have a go don't forget to leave a link to show us what you've made.

Let's weave!

Thanks for taking part in our "Funky Christmas“challenge last week. It’s great to see how versatile Christmas paper can be. We'll be along soon to let you know who will be downloading BOTH of those gorgeous Funky Hand Christmas collections very soon!

It's me, Miri, here this week to set the challenge
Let’s weave!
I always liked to do paper weaving and I remember one year when I was still in kindergarten, we had an advent calendar consisting of 24 woven heart baskets filled with delicious chocolates. So I thought we'd see how we could use weaving techniques on our cards
I'd like you to do some kind of weaving for your cards this week - let's proove that weaving is still beautiful and fun, and not at all old fashioned.

Use anything you like for your weaving;  paper, washi tape, ribbon, wool - even a mixture of media - we are really looking forward to seeing where you go with our challenge this week

Here are some ideas from the Design Team to get you inspired.

Having a Funky Christmas

Well! What a wonderful array of cards you shared last week.  Sometimes it seems as though we're so busy making cards for Birthdays, and now for Christmas that we forget all the other things we can make and send a card for - it was really lovely to see so many cards for all those "other reasons".

This week we're going to be greedy and ask you to make not one, but TWO projects - this is because
http://www.funkyhand.com/

 - our very generous sponsor this week,  have allowed the dt to download BOTH of their Christmas 2013 designer paper collections:

So we've all made 2 projects this week and that's what we'd like you to do too.   We'd like one to be a Christmas card and the other to be "something else" - you could make your second project a birthday card,  a tag, a gift box or another sort of greetings card - that bit is up to you - but we'd like you to use your Christmas stash for both!
Funky Hand are giving one lucky winner a wonderful prize of both these gorgeous downloads, but not only that - just to add to the fun, and to give you the chance to try out using Funky Hand downloads we have a freebie designer paper (which matches the Silent Night set) for you to download and hopefully use on one or both of your projects. Click HERE to find the Funky Freebie

Our prize will go to one lucky person, drawn at random after the closing date (10am UK time Friday 22nd Nov.)
The rules are simple
Make your 2 projects
Add links in the main body of your blog post to Funky Hand and to the Daring Cardmakers
Link up via the Inlinkz gadget at the bottom of this post

Here's what the team have made with Silent Night and Sleigh Ride this week, there will be more to see soon!
